Set up early to get on top of fly problems
Set up fly control measures early in the season to catch populations before they explode. Many people fail to recognise that getting on top of flies early will severely limit the problem for the rest of the season. A house fly in temperate regions can lay up to 500 eggs over 3 to 4 days, and in temperate regions as many as 10 to 12 generations may occur.
Scientists have calculated that a pair of flies beginning to reproduce in April may be progenitors, under optimal conditions and if all were to live of 191,101,000,000,000,000,000 (191 Quintillion) flies by August. Source: University of Nebraska Department of Entomology.
So the benefits of killing early spring flies can clearly be seen.
