Working with slurry can expose farmers and animals to the threats of toxic gas.
Toxic gases such as Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Ammonia (NH3) and Methane (CH4) are produced by bacteria during the decomposition of slurry. Gas is given off as soon as the slurry is disturbed and the rate is variable and difficult to predict which makes it more dangerous.
Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) in particular is extremely poisonous to humans and animals and can be fatal in seconds.
The GasAlert range of portable, single gas detectors provide cost effective, continuous, reliable, personal protection from a wide range of toxic gases including H2S.
As the world’s most popular and widely used zero maintenance gas detector, the GasAlertClip Extreme offers continuous, reliable protection. Available in two
year or three year versions, this single gas detector requires no calibration, sensor replacement, battery replacement or battery charging.
• Internal vibrating alarm for high noise environments
• Displays peak alarm exposures encountered on demand
• Durable, reliable and easy to use with no downtime
• Exceptionally low cost of ownership
• Minimal training requirements
Before entering the slurry pit simply lower the unit into the pit, if the unit shows that it is safe to enter, the detector can be clipped to a jacket or worn on a neck band offering continuous monitoring and protection to personnel working in the pit.
Several accessories are available, such as Concussion-Proof covers and Quick Release Neck Straps.
